The Viennese waltz, so-called to distinguish it from the waltz and the French waltz, is the oldest of the current ballroom dances. It emerged in the second half of the 18th century from the German dance and the Ländler in Austria and was both popular and subject to criticism.

Flamenco is an art form based on the various folkloric music traditions of southern Spain in the autonomous community of Andalusia. In a wider sense, the term is used to refer to a variety of Spanish musical styles. The oldest record of flamenco music dates to 1774 in the book Las Cartas Marruecos by José Cadalso. Flamenco has been influenced by and associated with the Romani people in Spain, however, its origin and style are uniquely Andalusian.

Jazz-dance is derived from the Ballet technique but has lots of modern components from American cultures. Simple choreographies will be worked to modern music, where the basic elements of Jazz-dance will be learned. Jazz dance is a performance dance technique and style that first emerged in Brazil in the early twentieth century.[1] Jazz dance may refer to vernacular jazz or to Broadway or theatrical jazz. Both genres build on African American vernacular styles of dancing that emerged with jazz music.
